ARCHIVE - Eurasia Foundation Presents Study on Stated Income, Property of State Officials

CHISINAU, MOLDOVA — Eurasia Foundation’s Moldova Representative Office, in cooperation with the Anti Corruption Alliance and the Center for Analysis and Prevention of Corruption, will present the results of its study, Stated Income and Property of State Officials, Judges, Prosecutors, Public Officials and Other Decision Makers: Perspectives on Problems and Solutions for the Republic of Moldova on July 9, 2009 in Chisinau.
Eurasia Foundation, through this study, offers an in-depth assessment of the principle of income transparency in the country, the current condition of the practice of officials stating their income, responsibilities officials have in stating income and analysis of legislation pertaining to officials’ stated income in neighboring countries such as Romania and Hungary.Representatives from the Department Commission for the Control of Income and Stated Property, government bodies, civil society, the donor community and the media are invited to attend the event. The press conference will address the study’s results and analysis, as well as conclusions and recommendations for future progress.
Eurasia Foundation’s Moldova Representative Office and the Anti Corruption Alliance commissioned the Center for Analyses and Prevention of Corruption for the study, conducted February - May 2009 with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida/Asdi) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
